DefaultWhy do YOU like M4s and/or M16s???

I see so many Armalites that I have to wonder, why does everybody like them so much? At first I thought that they were so cool because the US military uses it and that it was a very comfortable and customizable design. I have since found that in order to have an Armalite and not fit it, you need to have an M16VN, or have it completely stock, and then it still looks pretty generic. Now, for certain milsim aplications it comes in handy and is nice to have, but that's it for me. I totally respect your opinion and I hope you share why you like or dislike armalites!

I am actually a fan of the M16VN and might bid on a TM on ebay. (its uber cheap!!!)

I don't really like the M4/M16 that much, but I wouldn't say I dislike them either. I think it's just a iconic weapon, everyone and their brother knows what a M16 looks like. When they come into airsoft it's what everyone gets because they know the gun, and everyone recommends it because it has lots of upgrades and mags for it are everywhere. There's no doubt that many people buy one just because the U.S military uses Armalite series weapon also. A lot of it has to do with Milsim like you said, and almost all the Milsim games I've seen involve the U.S.

I'd have to say I like my M16 because its different from everyone else. I have a Mk12 SPR Mod 0 and I must say its really something to behold (especially with an 8.25" silencer and a huge 3-9X50 scope...lol). I usually only like things that no one else has and like to be unique. Most of the guys where I play are like that too. Everyone likes to be different. We've got a MP5, 2 SCAR's, one M14, one AK 47 and 74, one SIG552, three G36c's, one G3, one M4 S-systems, one H&K 416's and a G&P stubby killer......all kinds of stuff. Its pretty cool to see so many different guns on the field.... unless you need an extra mag...lol. In my book, anything is fine with me as long as you take your gun and make it your own. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.... and if it happens to be an M16 variant so be it. Just like Grinder said, everyone knows the M16 and has grown to love it.

I think its more respect than love for most IMO. I really like to see all the different armalites people can create, but I'd rather have something totally different from the crowd. 90% of the players I know have an armalite, so it gets a little boreing LOL. I don't care what anyone else has cause I compliment them no matter what because its still unique. Its just a lot more main stream.

I like Armalites because:

1) They look professional as used by the most 'seen in media' military force in the world.
2) They are really customiseable everywhere stocks parts, accessories, etc for them.
3) Everyone and his dog has mags for them and also they are cheap and easy to find.
4) I like the US Military, I would be in it if I wasn't a UK citizen and I like to be able to play at being a US Soldier and dress like them, use the same equipment for milsim type reasons and out of a strange form of respect I guess.
5) Their are SO many varients, attachements, mods, accesories, external parts etc that you can customise an Armalite to suit ANYONE in ANY ROLE without to much hassle.

I also like many other guns and their own personal styles so I'm not just an M16 whore.

So you like it because its customizable? Baisically it can be your 3-in-1 gun? Buy an upper receiver for CQB, feild and DMR maybe?

DefaultWhy I Prefer The M16's

I prefer the colt M16/AR15's because, they are customizable, and comfortable to use, plus "everyone and their Mom" has clips for them.

i like mine because:

can be made into a dmr/ SAW knockoff/ stock gun/ anything i want
internal and external parts are extremely prolific
looks proffessional
mags mags everywhere, and not a drop to drink
feels comfy, although i will buy a new motor handle
mine being an ics, it has a split gb, which is a wet dream when it comes to repairs, maintenance and upgrades
and oddly enough, there are more aks/mp5s and dpms (they dont count as armalites lol) than armalites around here, so i do kinda stand out
can be customised easily to become YOUR weapon

i dont like mine cuz:

v2 gb, grrrrrrrrrrrr..................
