Same. That's why I'm confused. Anyway, I was thinking maybe a pair of NVGs and an infrared laser so I could aim with either shotgun or rifle?

For a bolt action get a clamp on NV rig that will clamp on to the front of your gun. For a 12ga, any low end gen 1+ will do based on your intended use. How far are you planning to shoot?

Thing is, I'm concerned about using a scope on the 12 ga, as the recoil will most likely kill the scope, and the scope will most likely kill me. Also, the rifle has either weaver or picatinny rails, so a clamp wouldn't be necessary. I'd like to have one setup that I can use on all my guns.

A gen 1+ monocle would be the best, the higher gens will run anywhere from $400- $3000 dollars, it is completely up to you on which way you go. If you find a model you think would work, YouTube it and see what people have to say about it. A monocle will allow for you to quickly switch between NV and no regular line of sight. A monocle will severely limit your field of view but a two eye set up would fix that issue. You will most likely want to run a helmet that you can mount it on. Help that helps.
