Default Silencer

Well, most silencers stay on the gun because the barrel is threaded on the outside or inside, so you would just screw it on. I have also heard of but not seen a silencer that just stayes on with friction.

A silencer that stays on with just friction? I'd like to know more about that. Does anyone else know any information on them?

i haven't heard of silencers which are attached by friction but there are silencers which use a clamp over the muzzle, the clamp is similar to the clamps used in newer "quick release" rail accessories, maybe thats what JamesBondAIRSOFT is referring to.

My gun came with a non-removable silencer with an orange tip on it then when that snapped off, there was no orange left to identify the gun as airsoft

You could paint some orange on it if you want. Just make sure it does not get in the insides of the gun.

If you mean white as replacement for an orange tip it would not matter if you want your gun to be legal, sorry but orange is the only color man.
