Default MP5 recommendation

Hello !

I wanted a MP5 for a long time. I was looking at ICS and SRC. I heard ICS is reliable. I have many airsoft guns damaged on externals (ripped of sights, charging handles, etc), because i'm pretty rough on them in games. So i heard SRC makes STEEL mp5. Does anyone know how those perform and how are they build ? I'd like to choose ICS or SRC but theres not much information and details about SRC mp5s out there, im really interested in having steel reciever and other externals, but are the internals and externals really that good as they sound? Any recommendation?

Thanks!

The SRC is, as far as I know, discontinued. There are a few random sites that still have a few I think. The ICS is going to be a little proprietary, but they've got aftermarket support.

I own an ICS MP5, and I can vouch for the durability and reliability of that platform. The gun has all metal externals. It performs better than most stock guns do. It's a little on the heavy side for its size, but that is because of the metal externals. Range is surprising for a stock gun. Overall, it is a great addition to any airsoft armory.

I have zero experience with the src, so I cannot comment on it.

I'm happy with the overall external quality of my g&g. Their ver2 shells are weak though, and just as a note, the selector hole through the gb shell is slightly off spec compared to a cyma shell (not sure who is off spec to tm)
