Same here I was a total 1911 nut, I still am but I love this thing. Gonna be buying an 18c soon. The slide was sanded down with very fine grit I don't remember what grit specifically. Then I polished it out to get rid of the sanding marks in the metal. Next I will be doing a mirror finish to it. Little more detailed polishing to do to get it to that point.That they do. Nice job with the slide, btw. Did you just sand it down with fine grit or did you actually polish it? (the ejection port on mine is sanded, but I don't like it, it was silver for a day then faded to dull dirty gray)
