Hey guys so I was trying to install my 133mm MK23 inner barrel in my TM Hi capa and I ran into fitment issues with my Airsoft Masterpiece Brass hop up unit. I saw that some modifications may be required to run this barrel on certain hop ups. Does anyone know what needs to be modified?

It seems as if the hop up doesn't want to close completely. The top still has gapping once I tighten up the hop up. I heard someone say I can file down the hop up, but I'm not familiar with what exactly needs to be filed.

Did you compare the cuts on the barrel with the notches in the hop-up unit.

Did you buy a compatible barrel for the hop-up unit?

Post a picture of the Hop-up unit opened with the barrel under it. This will help you determine if the barrel is correct for you and allows us to perhaps notice something else if the barrel is a match.

I believe the barrel is for the TM MK23, but La capa customs said they run them on their 5.1 Hi capas. They said some hop ups require a bit of modification. I can get pictures when I get home

You bought the Nine Ball NBB barrel? It only has a collar cut and one notch. I think you need a barrel with two notches.

AM hop-up unit uses a VSR GBB Barrel and I think it needs a second set of notches. Like this Barrel.

See if your HUU has a position for notch 2 or 3.

I see now, I will go home and look over it. Would it be best to cut out the notches in the hop up or add notches into the barrel?

Always the barrel in this case. Those notches help stabilize the barrel in the hop-up.

Unless you have a small mill?

Yes...files. Specifically Jewelers files and a vise.

Start with a sharp file and then widen slowly and transition to a flat file. I would do a few practice runs...get aluminum tubing for the practice with starting and then widening the channel.
