http://airsoft-guns-blog.pyramydair.com/2011/10/airsoft-q-day-making-thunder-bs-go.html

These are tips to increase reliability and gas release time.
I wonder if I were to mod the grenade to release gas for a 1-2 second cook time, would I get the desired rapid gas pressure. I think I may need a old Thunder B. I will have to keep a eye out.

Another problem is the bb hold on the outside. I need to get some super flexible rubber to wrap around the grenade. Any ideas?

Hmm. That might work. It's a later step though. Do they make big O rings?

No. I am designing this in my head and if it seems plausible I may pick one up.
I also said that anyone can try this idea if they can make it work.

The idea I have for BB's is a 3 to 5 mm holes in the shell. Attached to the shell is something to hold the BB, that is stretchy. What I use for that is up in the air, but it should not be hard.

Better yet, I will post I here.

Okay, so this is a idea sketch. It is just ideas, added onto a sketch. Idea 1 shows a super thick O Ring with a 5 mm hole. As pressure builds, the BB will be expelled from the grenade. Idea 2 is a rubber wall with 5mm holes drilled. Same idea.

Mikejosephman, I thank you for your concern, but I believe this is safe for the following reasons.
1 My desighn relies upon a safe, tried Grenade Design. It may be modified, and therefore different but my Mods force the relese of pressure in many holes. If anything, it may be Safer.
2 it will waste BBs, but even a tornado grenade wastes half of it's BB's at least in a Ideal way.
3 This desighn is built upon a popular And widely Available Grenade, which is cheap none the less. The idea here is to hopefully make a Grenade that is Safe, and can be used cleanly indoors. Many cheap BB grenades use fireworks or baking Soda, which is either dangerous, or Messy.
4 The Rap 4 is a rarer Grenade which Is not highly effective for launching BBs, based on something I read. It works great for blast radius fields, or if filled with baby powder. Therefore it does not apply to what im doing here. That is based on only one thing I read, so maybe you know better.

In conclusion I think my project is worth continueing. It may have flaws, but I think it's worth a go. I do plan to be careful in testing, and am always open to safety suggestions.

I will hear any further statements against my Idea, and will take them into account, but I strongly believe this idea is one that will help many if successful.

Thankyou for your concern.

Intresting idea, but how would I use it.

As stated somewhere at the beginning of this thread, it's recommended to not mess with an unproven high pressured gas
design. The grenades in use have been tested, and therefore proven to work the way intended. But even then I have seen
malfunctions and dudes getting injured due to flaws.

I posted the link for the RAP4 grenade, because it's safe to use and won't shoot bb's out at anyone at a higher pressure
than is safe. What you're trying to achieve could possibly propel a bb at very unsafe velocities, depending on the strength of
the rubber you plan to use, and it's hold against the bb's and the shell. Unregulated pressure is dangerous dude.

Edit: Not to mention that depending on where and how your grenade lands, a good percentage of the bb's fired would be into the ground or brush. A neat idea no less, but not very practical.

Another safe alternative http://airsoft.tiger111hk.com/p4357...7/NICKER-MK2-72rd-BB-360Aďż˝-Fire-Fragmenation-Grenade-(GAS;CB)/product_info.html
I have heard the QC on the nicker grenades to be shoddy at best. Most of the problems relating to the timer malfunctioning.
