Recently purchased an Aftermath typhon to use as a sidearm. It has both semi and full auto capabilities and shoots around the 400 fps mark with a very high ROF. Is there possible a better gas pistol out there?

Yes, WE pistols for beginners, KWA and then (if you want to spend a little more) Tokyo Marui GBBs.

It's actually very good I own one. I got tired of co2 and bought a couple green gas mags for it. They feed and fit great and is very gas efficient. But yes there are better out there, but I love mine.

It's not that bad of a gun, but in the long run it seems to have reliability issues

Most of the internals seem surprisingly sound, how do most of the problems occur?

Where did you buy your mags? I only have 2

Don't be surprised if your trigger doesn't work. its common in all m9's the trigger spring will break. That, and your full-auto function will eventually get finicky.

Would it be possible to replace the trigger with a real one?

They work great with no leak or wobble.
