I have the G&G combat machine m4 carbine. I got a red dot for it but the front sight is not removal and it blocks some of the red dot. Without buying a riser what can i do? Because i dont think my red dot can have a riser because it is a thick diameter. Can i make a riser?

The front sight is removable. Just takes some teching. Maybe not even that. Im sure if you look on you tube you can find how to take it off.

Front sights on Combat Machines are built into the barrel therefore making them irremovable.

hold on..... you got this red dot sight attached to the top rails of the gun now??? if so then it can go on a riser with no issues. other than that how do you have it mounted now?

Before you go changing anything, does your dot co-witness with your iron sights? That is, does your dot line up with the front sight post? If so, then leave it, it's designed that way. That allows you to mitigate the effects of parallax pretty well.

If your dot doesn't co-witness, then chop the front sight triangle like Cajun said. It's not an uncommon mod and if you take the time to do it well, it'll look fine. You will want to buy a set of BUIS though.

This is what it would look like:

Real steel discussion about it, but still relevant:

If you still have your m4 carrying handle, and it has a little hole in the top, you could buy a rail attachment to put on top of the carrying handle, and then mount your sight on the new rail. Those cost 5-10 dollars. This will make your sight be right on top of your iron sight, so it is above your front sight, and now you can use your back sight if your red dot runs out of battery.
