My first AR was an a2….I think…:p. That’s my first AK.
M4s have overall better ergonomics and modularity and have a slightly less complex construction. The V3 gearbox and barrel assembly are definitive advantages of the AK platform.

I have both platforms and like both platforms.

Ngl, I find AK construction easier personally.
Ok I own both and love both. I love the modularity of my M4 but honestly love the weight of my ak. both are HPA, which you'd think lighter=better, but with the ak i feel like i can chill out and be more methodical. Also my M4 looks like a basket case rn...

Welp, I mostly just find the selector assembly annoying, they're relatively easy to work on otherwise. MP5's though, they can be annoying to work on.

...not gonna lie, reading that made my brain just sit there blinking for a bit. Neither of those selector assemblies have ever been difficult for me to reassemble... the only caveat being the stereotypical AK selector lever issue with coming loose over time.

Now the Scar... that is an annoying selector assembly lol.
Try making a Perun work in a v3 and you'll change your mind
Arcturus did.

AK12PE

And that group of people in WI dropping the PE mechbox in all sorts of AK's...

I don’t thing Guges likes the AK12PE much…. :p :ROFLMAO:
It's the only full MOSFET Controller in an AEG on the market...and they installed it at the factory...thus I don't have to fumble with it...and neither does Chris at ASW.

I'm curious about your definition of "the only full MOSFET Controller in an AEG on the market"? There have been multiple stock AEG's with integrated computerized MOSFET systems before, no?
Not a full unit...I would call them partials. Unless there were other features that were unknown to me...
What about the Specna Arms Edge 2.0 series? Gate Aster installed stock at the factory.

Partials?
Sadly, I have not standardized on a "feature" level terminology and thus I am causing confusion.

Original Aster is a Basic MOSFET, of which I am calling a Partial, due to it not having full features or a more advanced model, which came out as V2 and then the V2 SE

Firmware of course changed some of this.

I have to preface that I haven't yet handled a formal SA product...but only their precursor models without the Gate Units inside.

Thus I don't know what level of Aster is in a SA 2.0 with "Aster".

Supposedly the new G&G SGR556 will have a "full featured" unit. And I would bring up the Double Eagle Aeroknox line... some of those suckers even have Bluetooth capabilities.
They all are looking to put in full units now...
In real steel and airsoft i find aks unergonamic and overall trash. So i run the armalite platform.
Trash - that reminds me of a story I heard somewhere about a guy traveling across Europe back in the 70s or 80s. While in Russia he asked a local friend to recommend which Soviet made car he should rent for that part of his trip, said he wanted something that was good quality and reliable. His friend recommended some car who's name I don't remember, and the guy rented one and took off on his trip around the union. A few weeks later he came back and visited his friend again and said the car broke down seven times, why on earth would he have recommended such a bad car? The Russian friend said 'because it's easy to fix'.

Concepts like quality and reliability can be subjective, weird as that sounds.
