Ok so I was trying to take apart my UTG l96 but apparantly when I first assembled the gun I overtightened the back screw and now the gun is stuck in this position....


Yes that is my gun and my account

You have tried unscrewing said "back screw" and re-positioning the mech/barrel assembly in the stock right?

If not give that a try and get it seated properly before screwing it back up. Another thing that helps is screw all screws most of the way in and them tighten them when all are in place as this helps to reduce any small bits that may get warped by overtightened one place more than another.

Oh man.... That's a bummer. Is there any way to unscrew the back screw to try to level out the upper receiver?

No the Back one is half in half out and is kinda... well unmovable

If you think that may be that case what you could do is try drill the bolt/screw out and then use a very fractionally larger self tapping screw in its place this should work aslong as it doesn't go through metal. If not you could take a pair of pliers and turn in the unscrewing direction while pulling really hard so it will come out even if stripped, then if the thread is still intact enough put some lock tight on it and try again.

No that wont work, Im going to send it back to UTG for a new one,
