My buddy was showing me his m4 which has a 9.6 1600 mah nunchuck battery. He shot it like maybe 15 times, and then 15 minutes later the battery got extremely hot and actually melted some of the wiring.

Anyone have a good explanation for this? Normally I would think that it was a short of some kind, but the fact that the battery got hot so long after we shot it has me confused.

You guys had a completed circuit somewhere. Did the same thing with a couple car tools. Also with a car battery. I would look around for a completed circuit as thats most likely your problem.

That happened to me and my brothers m4. We found that for both of our guns their was a part where the wire was exposed and it overheated and melted the battery
