Been watching air-soft game play videos lately & been wondering how would folks on the blue team see the red team like in a CQB arena or a woodland arena? Also how do folks know to call hits when theirs no paint splash on your safety gear or clothing?

High vis armbands. Also it's fairly easy to guess what team someone is on based off their position. Normally you'll feel it even through camo. If it hits your backpack or vest or something you can normally still hear the bb hit it. Sometimes though you just don't notice it and that's a hazard of the game. This is why I tend to shoot until I see a hand go up because it's sometimes hard to feel the shots.

Usually you'll both hear and sense the impact, in addition to the actual pain from getting shot.
Usually the guy screams and violently demands to know what fps you are shooting. -.-

In airsoft, its basically this: Call your hits or karma hits you. Poeple arent afraid to put half a mag into you if you arent going to call your hits. Its not like paintball where it seems extreme to shoot that much because it leaves paint and looks crazy.

Why can't more people subscribe to this train of thought. It always seems like the people who don't call their hits get annoyed when they get shot more. You'd THINK that wold be common sense but.....

Where I play people barely bats an eye over getting hit by 10 BB's. I once rattatta'd the entire side of a guy and he just calmly commented on it afterwards.

Well, good luck getting through all the red tape of immigration. :/
I rarely ever shoot anyone more than twice. No one wants to show up to work/school the next day full of welts. This is why I generally dislike HPA users at semi-only fields because they shoot so fast they don't even give anyone a chance to call their hit before being pelted 10 times.

The old way is to break up teams by camo pattern. If not an outright reenactment (WW2 German uniform vs. US 101st airborne)

Red team - Tiger Stripe
Blue team - M81 Woodland

The paintball woodsball way to break up teams is by colored armbands.

As far as hits? You will feel the bb strikes or hear it. Play it safe and when in doubt just call it.

I purposely avoid armoring up so that I do feel hits. Honesty means a lot to me, so I do my best to call every hit I take. But, yeah, you either feel them or hear them. When people don't call their hits, they normally get pelted until they do. It's even more fun to get cheaters in CQB, where you can charge their position and hit em' right in the back.

And then, to know the teams, lots of fields mark people with armbands, but you can normally tell by that person's position. Chances have it, if they're facing where you're coming from, they're an enemy.

Last week i accidentally twitch reflex shot a guy in the chest from 3 feet with my sniper rifle. Hed jumped through the doorway id been shooting through. Luckily he chose to claim that i didnt hit him and i dont think he knew who it was anyway because he rushed a few of us. i know he felt it though.
