So I took my aeg apart and when I started to turn the buffer tube screw, there was nothing happening. I looked in and there aren't any threads in the hole. Am I missing something? Please help.

More information would help. You removed the screw, and there were no threads on thescrew? Or on the spring guide in the gearbox? Is this a new gun, or did you buy it used?

I took my gun I use often apart and there aren't any threads inside of the gearbox or spring guide

you opened up your gearbox i assume?
Plastic Spring guide I would assume as well. There was a nut on the inside, look around you knocked out when you put your gb back together you did not include the nut. ive done this at least 10 times in the past
