My kid is really into airsoft and I was going to get him a good gun vs the cheaper stuff he can afford. Then I saw the prices and got a little sticker shocked. Something about paying the same or more than the real gun its trying to replicate just doesn't sit well with me. However, I had an idea of taking a Rugger 10/22 kit and adapting it to work but I have several questions. If anyone could answer that would be awesome. 1. Is there a company that sells barrels or misc parts? 2. Has any done something like this? I've seen the 2x4 guns (creative but wanted something a little better built) 3. I've seen that most ranges limit velocity at 450-500 fps, is this measured at the barrel or at a distance? Also, if any has any advice that would be greatly appreciated.
