You would be better to just get an AEG. It will perform better, and be able to be used more. Plus, to make a sniper rifle that works well, you have to spend in excess of $1K.

Yea I'm back note. And I'm glad I am. And skywaffles ban was probably more than just a sexist joke.

OP, a AEG is more expensive to operate than a stock sniper so if your looking for a a better performance use a AEG. You can get a decent AEG(JG) for the price of a Bar10.

... AEG = more expensive than stock sniper rifle? Care to explain?

Based on your ideas, why would you get a stock sniper rifle instead of an AEG?

Now. Based on the (truthful) information around the boards, what's better? Stock sniper rifle, or an AEG?

Oh yeah. Welcome back, Mockingshot :)

Um a AEG is more expensive to run than a stock sniper. Battery, and bbs are pretty expensive in the end. Stock sniper only needs a few bbs everyonce is whole..make sense?

    Aeg wins hands down.

Hmm.... Stock sniper rifles tend to break a lot faster than stock AEGs. You have plastic trigger boxes, plastic sears, I could go on. At his price range, an AEG would be far cheaper than putting down $60 for new sears and $80 for a new trigger box in his 'cheap sniper rifle' a few months down the road.

    That's my vantage point.

Yes but if he's set on a sniper a JG would be the way to go. Same for AEG.

Time for the talk about snipers.
First off your regular old sniper rifle will not out preform any AEG (unless a LPEG). You need to but upgrades into it which generally cost 300-1000 for a great sniper rifle. Good sniper rifles for upgrading are:
    JG BAR-10.
    UTG L96.
    VSR-10.

If you keep them stock. Your friends AEG will out preform your sniper.

You really don't want to be a sniper. It costs a lot of money first of all. Second it is hard work ( not that that is a bad thing) and after you spend 400-1000$ on the rifle you still have to get the gear. Being a sniper in airsoft is not easy work. Just get a aeg. Jg's are the best in your price range.

Marksmen don't carry load bearing gear. They carry maybe a backpack for recon missions. But extra weight means death. The smaller the target the better in their ghille suits.

This would be the only thing they would need.

Good point, but even the ghillie and other small stuff like magazines is all he is planing on spending on the gun.

Edit: besides the one in your link.

Ghille suit in airsoft= pointless. You have to be a trained professional and willing to take the time to be extra careful. The only problem is they have respawns so they can come back and kill you from a difference direction. Ghilles are a bit large and bulky for airsoft. Not heavy just bulky and show your position if your a running, screaming ball of moss.
