Yo guys, this is time for my first build!

I decided to have an early Christmas list, and I'll be getting this during Christmas time obviously!

I'm looking for reliability with a 7.4v lipo or a 9.6v NIMH, and I want it to shoot around 200 feet accurately with ~20 RPS? I am also aware of reshimming and relubing and basic mods to do to my gearbox.

My budget would be $100, a little over is fine. Thanks in advance!

Have you opened up a gearbox before?

What exactly are you asking for? You don't need a heavily reinforced gearbox to achieve your goal, just do a good overhaul of the gearbox and do the R-hop or Flat-hop mod, stabilize barrel etc. Definitely go for the li-po option, ni-mh batteries are obsolete.

Definetily get a promi (IMO is one of the best barrels) 6.03. Stabilize, definitely go LiPo ready like already stated. NiMh is just outdated but 100$ probably won't be enough to get everything.

^This, especially if you plan on investing in a quality balance charger (the one I'm getting is $40 before shipping).

You can get a balance charger for $20 shipped.

Lipos are about $15 from US hobbyking warehouse.

DIY mods and tools are cheap.

Maybe just replace the bucking and do normal tuning?
