DSG FPS Inconsistency/Build Thread

Hey guys, I recently have been working on a DSG build, but I've run into either one or multiple problems depending on if they're related. My fps is inconsistent on semi, fluctuating between 380-360 fps. On full auto, fps is even worse. One day it was around 360, so not bad. But the next day it was in the 250-300 fps range, so I don't know what happened there. Full auto shot pattern literally looks like a shotgun spread, though at least it is feeding.
Here's my parts list:

-18:1 stock gear set with shs DSG gear and stock tappet plate (<11mm)
⁃ shs high strength polycarbonate piston (SS + SC)
⁃ Matrix silent piston head (aluminum)
⁃ ASG 30k boost
⁃ Gate titan mosfet (dsg setting)
⁃ Maxx Model CNC aluminum hopup (pro model)
⁃ G&G hopup bucking (cold-resistant)
⁃ Matrix CNC aluminum air seal nozzle (ground off <.25 mm)
⁃ Matrix silent cylinder head (aluminum)
⁃ m150 spring
⁃ 265 mm inner barrel
⁃ ported cylinder

DIY mods done:
⁃ AOE
⁃ Shimming
⁃ Tappet return spring -4 coils
⁃ Everything greased/lubed accordingly

***tested with 11.1 v 2200mah 25-30c lipo and .20 gram bbs***

Most of these parts, including the hopup, bucking, nozzle, and tappet plate were used in my 12:1 SSG build, which worked just fine. I had this same problem with the SSG build but solved it by grinding <.25 mm off of the nozzle which made my fps more consistent; when it did change it was +-10 fps. Still using these parts, but encountered the same problem again albeit worse. I had already cut 2 coils off my tappet return spring, and then did the tissue test. Paper was blown off, so I thought that my nozzle wasn't returning fast enough. I then cut off 2 more coils. Paper moved slightly after that (but still quite noticeable on auto). So in total there are at least 4 coils cut off my tappet return spring and I'm still having the tissue kinda pushed off. At this point I'm even considering that the nozzle might be a hair too short (thanks to me grinding a bit off), causing hopup compression issues.

Note: This is my first DSG build, so by far I don't know everything. Any help is appreciated.

Well I was getting bored with my build (waiting on a stronger 11.1 v lipo to come in) so I decided to hack an amplifier...If I had a 3d printer, I would've tried to print a design like UA where the amplifier internally looks like a trumpet, but I had to make do with what I had. After measuring my tracer unit, I ordered some foam pipe insulation. What I did was order pipe insulation with a slightly tighter (inner) circumference than my Acetech Brighter C tracer unit. I cut a piece of insulation of the same length as my tracer. I slid the tracer into the insulation and secured it with a drop of loctite. I had an old king arms tracer unit that busted (complicated story), so I gutted the shell and took the longest component that used to house the actual tracer. I then slid that onto the acetech, and tadaaa - a cheap amplifier over my tracer unit :D. Not quite a crack sound, but still a nice pop...I'm satisfied. Alas, I cannot upload a vid from my platform, but here are some pics of my steps. Literally took me 5 mins to slap together haha.

Funny, I did the same but also the exact opposite lol. I had an old TM tracer that died ~8 years ago, when I was working on a ARP I found and gutted the can, 3d printed an insert with an expansion chamber in the back and a socket up front for a G&G UVT 106-2.0 so I could have a suppressor and tracer in one  Tubular handguard complements the can, gives the gun a really interesting look imo. Nice muffled thump sound too, I've had people on the other team run past me shooting towards my team (indoor CQB) thinking I was further back based on my muzzle pop. Easy kills :D

@rm105 ah yes, the KA supressor came with that screw on cap too, so if I want a more muffled sound like you, I can just pop it on...but I like loud better :D
I slid a piece of inner tube over an acetech bt tracer, then unscrewed the end cap of a couple of my suppressors and it slides right in centered and everything!
thats cool

Oh, I have that same gun. The original gearbox went boom though. Don't get upset if it lets go. One of my favorite AEGs. It is super light and built very well actually. I have "high end" guns that are not as solid as this Dytac. I put a VFC shell in mine since I have a lot of VFC shells. Had to grind off the bolt catch posts on the VFC gearbox. It fit great after that. Ambi-selector works, bolt catch works...

Now that I have my gun in working condition, I'm out looking for a decent battery…my 11.1 Lopo batteries are ones I bought a bit back when I didn't know any better and just wanted something to fit in my buffer tube. I found something like this, any thoughts?

Or this smaller battery?

Also @Jimps what section of the GB busted?

The front of the shell cracked, common place for V2 shells to break. Not a big deal really, just replace the shell if it happens. I use 2200mah battery similar to the one listed. I modified my PTS stock and cut my buffer tube to get it to fit. Also can buy this other battery but it is expensive. It does fit PTS stocks and some other stocks as well.

ummm...I think those are fake 2400mahs...

That looks like a HJ LIPO..and knowing HPA...

Oh, you mean like this absolute joke? Yea I have seen these before.
Scale Postal scale Gadget Output device Bag

The 2400mah HPA battery looks like 2 equal sized sides. I cant tell from the packaging, maybe one is half the size of the other. It should be 3 equal sized cells to make an 11.1v lipo. Hard to see through package. They also make this 2800mah lipo that looks fishy. Not going to spend $65 to find out. I did buy a 1500mah from them that was actually 1500mah though. The c rating, who knows.

They don't make a 2800mah cell in that profile...I know...I looked for them.

Judging by the thickness in that image...

Each of their cells looks like 2 1400mah cells in series and then three pods of them in parallel.

Cost for that pack is 18.00 if it is indeed made of 6 1400mah cells...so that means...they fleece the player again for 40.00, not as bad as Titan...
On Warhead's website they advertise Hardon Energy lipo packs. They also say they can custom make lipos packs to the size/profile you need. Have you heard of this company, do they make decent cells?
Rebrander...a Chinese Titan Battery company....and why not...US general player base thinks all MFG adverts is the Gospel.

Notice Hadron Website offers absolutely No Details on the specs of their cells.

Proof is in the pudding...and I don't even see the pudding...

Hmm...I think they are the same Group. Note website has a similar "DNA" between the "two" companies...

And yes, they are the same company...

Domain is hosted by the same AZ company for both Domains and Warhead About Us page points to Ko-Industries.

So the 2400mah battery is 6 cells. 3s2p pack. The 2800mah might be 3s3p, I'm not sure though. I had a 3s3p BlueMax 3300mah that I sold with a gun. Not sure about BlueMax lipos, I got the one I had in a bundle of stuff I bought off a guy. Never tested it other than to see it held charge then sold it soon after. Think Novritsch sells them. Have you tested them before?
BlueMax is a 3rd party brand that the "factory" uses to sell on their own...that factory is an "assembly" factory that also does Titan LION.
Weird fps variations again, and I know it can't be PME. Piston slides well and spring is very strong. I'm blaming tappet plate for this one. I opened the gb and the hook on the plate that attaches the spring is shall we say bent. Fps inconsistency at this point is probably just air leak, so I ordered a few more SHS tappets. I'll be surprised if this ain't the problem...
Sorry to keep dragging this post out, but I need more help...Fps is +-5 on semi around the 315-320 range with a guarder sp140 (stuck a piece of neoprene in my cylinder head). When testing with my weakest battery, my fps is most consistent. However when I up the power, semi fps becomes more erratic (but still in same range). (Btw auto is around 260 fps and erratic). I'm thinking overspin is contributing to the semi fps inconsistencies, as in the nozzle is getting "precocked" while the air is still being shoved into the chamber. When the fps is ~320 there's a distinctive "pop" but when the fps is ~315 it sounds more like a slightly longer cycle. Is this normal (also taking into account the huge fps loss in auto) and if not, what can I do to fix this? I'll attach pics of my gb and tappet trimming when I get home later today...
A 60fps drop between semi and auto ain't good, should be ~ the same. Is FPS on auto good with the weak battery or ~260 as well? If you've ruled out PME, how strong is the tension on your hop chamber? Does it move freely if you push the feed tube forward, spring back easily? I've seen the impact and vibration of shots move/shift the chamber around causing a leak that's hard to pin down. Test by having the ejection port open and using a finger to pull the hopup back against the gearbox when shooting, see if there's any improvement. Having a slightly longer nozzle can mask this.

Fps drop is same on both batteries (~260).
Haven't opened my gb yet today, but I've been experimenting with my hopups/tension...I tried a stock hopup unit and 6 o rings around my barrel (no spring)...Got decent readings (320 fps +-3) and then random ~115-130 fps readings mixed in. I dunno what that's about so if someone could explain that I'd be thankful. Hopup unit is locked in with no wiggle room. Full auto was between 280-290 and all over the place in between. This was all tested on my weakest battery. Only other issue could be with my tappet, but I won't be able to get into my gb until maybe tomorrow...
