Hey guys I'm currently on planning to do an upgrade on my e1 scar's stock gearbox and I need a second opinion. So what I'm trying to attain is around 20-25 bps and around 380 fps. I'm also planning on running a 7.4 lipo, but need a little help with finding a good MOSFET. But here is a list of the parts I would like to get.

    1) Lonex A3 Long Blue High Speed Motor http://clandestineairsoft.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_6_10&products_id=1573)
    2) SHS Piston – 15 Carbon Steel Teeth Blue

    4) Lonex High Speed Gears (16:1)

    5) SHS M110 AEG Spring http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/SHS_M110_AEG_Spring_p/32546.htm

So any thoughts or critiques would be greatly appreciated and I've done a ton of research into mosfet's and i'm still having trouble finding a good one, so if anyone could help with that it would be greatly appreciated.

i would use a torque motor. it's more efficient with 16:1 ratio. you will need to rewire with mosfet + 16 awg. shs piston will work fine. remember to remove the piston bearings and use a bearing spring guide (not sure if e1 comes with them stock). is this an L or H model? H model has a limited area to put a mosfet.

i prefer to use speed motors for 11.1v builds (it has a less stressful startup). if you do go 11.1v (~35rps) expect over spin.

    don't forget to correct AOE...

whoops, totally forget to mention the model its a scar L. And thanks very much, but I quick question what do you mean "mosfet + 16 awg"? Also how about the SHS high torque motor, because the Lonex High torque motors are out of stock everywhere.

i would try to find lonex. but shs torque will work fine. mosfet is an electronic switch that redirects the high current away from your trigger contacts. 16 awg is the thickness/current capacity of the wires. the lower the number, the thicker the gauge (go figure). there is less resistance in the 16awg therefore it runs more efficient (motor gets to run happier and produce higher rps). on high load builds, the motor will be pushing dangerous amps. this will require a fuse because any gearbox lockup will cause a melt down. your build is not a high load build. but stock tamiya connectors are prone to melt downs with 9.6v batteries.
