I looked it over. Super helpful guide that I will for sure be referring back to over the course of this build.

An update: I placed the order for the base platform (CYMA Plat. SR-25) and a chronograph, both of which should arrive by the end of the month. By that time I will be familiar and more confident with gearbox work, and I will begin testing to see what I want to improve.

The gun arrived on Friday, and today I opened it up.

I can't get the bloody gearbox out.
I have been able to separate the receiver halves, but I cannot for the life of me get the gearbox out. There are several pins that look to be holding it in place, but I can't get those out. The mag release is for certain holding the gearbox in, but I don't have the right tools to remove that. How do I get the gearbox out?

Also, upon removing the inner barrel and hop-up unit, it appears to all be one piece. Is it really--besides the crank to change the spin--all one piece or am I just dumb?
