Ok guys, I have been playing airsoft for almost 4 years now and I've decided that I would like to make my own airsoft gun completely from scratch starting with a receiver and ending with a battery. The only problem however, is that there are so many individual parts that go into making an airsoft gun, and this is going to be my first build. So I'm sure that out of all of the parts I have spent hours choosing, I am either missing parts that are needed, have unnecessary parts, or have parts that wont fit together right (this being my biggest worry as I'd like everything to fit together correctly).

So now to make sure that I do have everything right, I have decided to come to you beautiful people and ask that you review all of the parts i have chosen. I know that this isn't going to be easy as there are so unbelievably many parts, but I'm sure that someone with a little bit of free time will be willing to help me out with my gun build and ensure that I do not fail dramatically.

Now to the gun itself. The style I am going for is a high speed, cqb, M4, with a great RoF, and long lasting durable internals. Also around 330-350 FPS. All of the parts I've chosen add up to around $1,500 but I plan on only ordering about 5-10 parts at a time. My goal is to finish this build by the start of 2014. So now i will list a link to every single part i have chosen and i ask you to please look over all of them and make suggestions about what parts might work better, what parts would not work at all, and any other suggestions you can think of. Thank you to all that take their time to help me on this great project.

Here we go. M4 Body first.

Once I start the build, i will be posting updates and pictures in this thread to show my progress. :D:)

First off, many of your internal parts aren't good choices.

Go to Clandestine, WGC, or even Ehobby and put your parts list together MUCH cheaper. Magic Box parts and Bravo parts are more expensive than necessary. Lonex parts-- like they're motors-- are a way better deal.

Thank you good sir. I will start looking into other websites now.

Would this be a better Motor?

Why not buy a base gun and replace only necessary parts and spend alot less money? The total cost is within PTW and Polarstar territory, you know.

Okay, I only looked at a few of your choices and I can help you save a little bit of money. On the tightbore, madbulls are okay if you can find a Prometheus inner barrel for the same price go for it. The moe grip you chose is a kit that can let you configure it how you want, they sell regular magpul moe grips for around $25-30. And lastly the lipo, you can buy a $10 or $15 on hobbyking.com and get a charger and adapter for around $30.

Because i just like the idea of using all individual parts price is not something im really worried about.

and at schlabie, I am not sure if any of those battery's would fit into the PEQ box though

but that is a high torque motor and I am only using a 110 spring. So wouldn't a high speed motor be better for a higher RoF?

Sorry for the double post, I just learned how to multi quote

A high torque motor is better, they have way better trigger response and similar if not better ROF than a high speed.

Fair enough. And definitely get a Lonex A2, it's an amazing motor. In theory you can pass the 100rps mark with one, in a DSG setup, so ROF won't be an issue.

100rps.... that makes me happy. however, I think ill try keep it around 32 rps or so because I'm not sure if i would be able to keep up on the lubrication costs of a 100rps gun :D

Combine the A2 with 16:1 ratio gears, an M120 spring and an 11,1v li-po and wiring with a mosfet and you should get 32rps on the dot. You wouldn't get any mags to feed at 100rps anyway hehe.

Definetely give it some time constructing and reconstructing your list before going into such a costly build. As someone mentioned, you are bound to get better deals on asian sites and avoid airsoft retailers when it comes to batteries and chargers.

I can understand the appeal of making a gun your own by building it ground up, but I must ask who oem'd the base gun?

There is no base gun, he is literally building an AEG from the ground up.
