I have the g&p m4 carbine (FG) and is the stock g&p piston good or should I replace it and if so what piston should I replace it with?

    Replace it with SHS piston.
The G&P one is like British shortbread. Looks hard on the outside but crumbles when you take a bite.

Also replace the explosive piston head because it is literally explosive.

Look into replacing the M120 motor, piston, and gears.

You can replace all those with SHS or Lonex and immediately have a much better performing gun.
I'd get an SHS or Lonex High torque motor, SHS 15 metal tooth piston, and SHS gears (beware the SHS Gen2 bevel gear. It strips very easily.).

If you're buying SHS gears, get it from Clandstine because those come with gen 1 bevels.

Why would you bite your piston? Lol, but yea OP, SHS piston plus piston head would be a wise investment.

And new gears would be a good idea.

Yea, gears aren't neccesarry, but it's suggested. And if you ever plan on upgrading the spring, a motor is a must. In all honesty, G&P motors are fast, but they are weaker than a CMs plastic body.
