I live in Rome and Calhoun Ga. I am trying to get in the sport but need a field near me. I know about Georgetown but it might be a little to far. Once I play some if I like it I will be using a sniper or lmg. If I get into it I'll be open to joining a team also. If u have any advise I would gladly take it.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not from Georgia, but I can still be of service.

If you're looking for fields, a quick google search will aid in your search. There are also 'field finder' search engines on various airsoft retailers' websites, like ASGI and Airsplat.

As for "any advice", that's a pretty general statement. Advice with what? Tactics? Guns? Gear? The people on this forum would be glad to help, they just need you to be more specific.

What I'm getting from your post is that you have an AEG assault rifle of some sorts, right? Unless it's a walmart/sporting goods gun, that's probably the best option for starting out with airsoft. If, later, you're interested in pursuing a sniper rifle or support weapon, you can. Just know that sniping in airsoft is not like in real life, and that in order to be effective as an airsoft sniper, you have to upgrade almost every single internal part of your gun, and you have to hone your skills in terms of marksmanship, stealth, etc.

Sry I didn't specify "advice" but I mean tips on strategy, stealth, and sniper and lmgs for weapons advice. Also about my weapons I have a Walmart assault rifle I got many years ago and haven't used since since I lost the charger. But I found it.

Hey it's all good. We all had to start somewhere. If you're interested in playing at an actual airsoft field, your Walmart AEG won't cut it. You should really look into buying an affordable yet reliable AEG from a reputable company. JG and Cyma come to mind. Here are some helpful links to get you started:

If you want advice on play style/gameplay, I'd recommend Youtube. Written experience is nice, but visual and verbal experience is better; until you experience it yourself. That's how I started and it gave me a nice head start. Eventually I'll join a milsim team for better training and possibly milsim events if my time permits it.

What strategy you utilize depends on what play style you're rolling with.

Best of luck to you with the walmart airsoft rifle..

I live in Calhoun also and play at George Town. There aren't many options for outdoor airsoft in north GA.
