Can a CA high torque motor be used in a stock gearbox in general? Particularly the APS M4 EBB gearbox, i was hoping to put in a high torque motor and an m120 spring... what kind of ROF should i expect out of this setup generally speaking? Thanks in advance, Will :)

Yes you can use a HT CA motor in a stock GB. And ROF depends on your batter.
You should get around 15 with a 7.4v lipo.

Thanks, if i purchased high speed gears would they be reliable enough in such a setup?

without proper tuning, the piston will fail. AOE will need correction.
there are different options for increasing ROF...

what is your target ROF and FPS?
    what is your budget?
what do you have to work with?
how well are your soldering skills?
    do you have a dremel?

    1. Target ROF: 20-25 BPS FPS:380-400 FPS
    2. Budget is about $100 for the entire gearbox but larger purchases can be made at later dates
3.I will be purchasing replacement parts as they need to be purchased and i will base my purchases off of recommendations made by members of AS
    4. My soldering skills? They could use some work but that's what projects like this are for, Right? :)
5.I not only have a dremel but a motor vehicle repair shop full of tools (Not that i can see much of that coming in handy)

    for that budget:

    m120 main spring
    11.1v 15c 1600mAH + balance charger
mosfet + deans or XT60 connector
    correct AOE
(stock 18awg wiring will lose some rps)

a more expensive but more reliable build:
m130 short stroke to desired FPS
    SHS or lonex speed motor
    mosfet + 16awg wiring + deans/xt60
    7.4v 35c 2200 mAH + balance charger

if you decide to go abit over 30rps, just slap on an 11.1v 25c 1600 mAH
the high spring rate + short-stroking fixes any semi-auto lock or over spin issues, also gives better trigger response.

    base gun: JG (stock gears)
tuning: AOE correction, re-shimming, re-lubing, airsealing, rounding off gearbox cylinder window corners, polishing guide rails and cylinder is optional.
