I did some quick math last night on meshmixer. it would look super bulky if i were to place a compartment in the 'hull'. i would need to fashion a custom grip to house a 9v. for sure will be more blocky than what i have now. that means it would look like a glock grip lol. ak74su glock edition

Almost. i mean, one can only make so many designs for a glock conversion without adding unnecessary/stupid stuff lol. sure beats paying sru hundreds vs printing this overnight for < $10

Although SRU has some great designs and finish. it just sucks tremendously that they use PLA plastic that will deform if their kits are left in a hot car.

This is plain awesome! I own a 3d printer and use it for prototyping. What material do you use for airsoft stuff? I've been using pla for the prototyping and petg for the final product.

ABS or PET G. yeah, 3d printers are now a necessity for me. I literally think of crap, and pump it out over the weekend. the future is now lol

quick update. I was thinking about the 9v battery not fitting in the foregrip because my 16v Lion takes up most of the space on the top, and below the barrel is pretty much too narrow to fit anything wider/taller than 15mm.

Then i figured if its a 9v lipo, there has to be 2 slim cells inside!

viola! take apart the 9v and de-solder the plug. I'll just recharge using my b6 and micro connectors.

PS: its the little orange thing in the front guard. under the lion stick.

with the real estate under the barrel, i could also run momentary buttons for either a 100lumen navi light or a red laser. of course all built into the 3d hera grip.

couple more updates. i have since painted the front grip, and finished wiring the secondary lipo for the momentary Hop Unit tracer. tracer switch works like a charm.

The grip however looked Great as it matched the color of the wood/fakelite magazine. The down side was the matte clear coat i used made everything pale LOL. i even sanded down the color to bring some black through like someone suggested.

on a batter note, Im printing a prototype Magpul Grip for the ares slim motor. heres a teaser:

(for a more vertical grip, the motor profile comes VERY close to the edge. i maaay have some wiring issues)

Gotta be real careful with the grip wires. I shorted my AK last week when I swapped from my RK-3 grip back to the stock AKM grip and exposed the barest sliver of wire. Luckily the gaps were small enough to just be covered up with some shrink wrap, instead of requiring a rewire.

Turns out the wires are fine. The grip fit first print! Very happy how it turned out. I finally got a magpul moe k2 grip on an ak AEG! Just had to make it myself

Thank you sir, finished it this afternoon. Had to repaint the brown, and used a light coat of gloss clear.

cleaned up the battery bay. Also better lighting. then to top it off, a snubby flash hider. (notice how the battery cells match the furniture.. had that planned all along lol)

And another one showing the MLOK rail bits i printed. will be painted black

That would look really nice with the stock pulled off it. I'd hate to use it without a stock, but it would certainly look good.

how she stand now. sanded off the stock reddish varnish, and went back with 4coats of oil stain. some nice looking wood grain behind a stock CYMA 045a!

also dont mind the TM MWS

as she stands now. i burned the hadguards, painted the k2 grip, and changed the warfet to semi and 3 round burst.
