I've been airsofting for a few years now and have decided that my role on my team is as a support gunner. So, I've been looking and now I have a decision to make. I do not want know your personal preference but the quality of the gun and performance. Which gun is easier to work on? Which one has the best gear box? Which one has the best ROF?

The RPK is a very nice support weapon. depending on your size it may be too bug for you (length) because alot of people have issues with that. The performance is just like any other AK. If your in a true support role you will not be using drum mags but the RPK hicaps. They hold something like 750 rounds.
The MK43 is a nice weapon and actually has an adjustable rate of fire via the gas tube. The box mag being on the side gets in the way and makes it awkward to carry. but its performance is great. The Full size 249 has the same performance but not the issue or the box getting in the way.
I would recommend the Para 249

instead of the full size but that is my opinion.
The 249 can take stanag mags as back ups if you ever run out of ammo.

I suggest getting that box as it is much smaller and doesnt make as much noise for the 249.

I was reading the RPK uses a V.3 gear box is that true? If so that wouldn't be able to take near as much punishment as the MK43 and SAW gear boxes right? Also whay would you not use a drum mag in the RPK? Size is not a problem ( I'm a pretty big o' boy). I've heard some things about the A&K gear boxes (they are weak and such) is this true?

you could run the drum mag on it if you wanted but places that use real like only weapons you need to only have the RPK (hicap AK) mags because that is what they actually use. The RPK can take some good punishment and the A&K can as well. You want to make sure they are shimmed correctly and that you replace the heavy wear parts like the piston and head with something better.
I have used the A&K Para and the MK43 you listed. Both were very nice and fun but the Para is much easier to use and move with

I just don't like the para, its ugly and it doesn't look very sturdy. I asked on another forum and they said the A&K saw has awful hopup problems stock, is this true?

A&K hopups are all weak yes. They work but dont expect to get the life of teh gun out of it and the best performance out of it.... The full size 249 is your best bet though. A&K is good unless you have teh money for the VFC or other high end...

The A&k is on the edge of my price range. The RPK mags are much cheaper though. Whats the Lowest price on the SAW mags? (The drum mag on the RPK would be to emulate tha PKM (is that right) as best I could, RPK is the closest I can get.) Unless there is and PKM out there o_O? I'd much rather have on of those.

The A&K m249 is great. The hop up needs minor fixes.

I wish there was a PKM out there lol.

I'd go personally with the RPK. Drum mags are reliable (most brands). High caps are cheap, and hold 500-600 rounds. Battery space is a little limited weirdly, but.... Nothing major.

M249's are great as well, but the box mags don't last forever. They will strip and die sooner then people think. Then you'll be using m4 mags soon enough. Battery space is limited as well. Unless you do a mag mod. But if the box mag breaks, you'll be screwed.

M60/mk43 whatever are good as well. Same box mag problem.

Grab a G&P Stoner or find a ARES LMG. Good bulld platforms. Or... Find a shrike lol.
