I’m pretty sure I recognize his username. If it’s who I’m thinking of, he is well aware of the AK options on the market. He’s looking for a VFC because the barrel pin isn’t molded into the front trunnion, like on LCT or E&L. And I bet he doesn’t want a Cyma because of the aluminum barrels and chinesium trunnions/barrel components.

VFC are no longer made, going on 17 years now. And the price of one in decent condition used model is 50% more then a new E&L.
And you would be surprised how few know about the build method of an E&L.
So, making inquiries to be helpful, because there wasn't any details is not being annoying...

And LCT or Inokatsu no longer make the M60, but some people still want that one over A&K.
I am not going to say E&L is bad, but their essential line doesn’t match VFC’s externals. Their Gen2 was closer. Used nicer wood and the finish was slightly different than the essential. I don’t have much personal experience with the spartan line, but I haven’t seen many great things in comparisons online. Pinning and the selector (and to my memory, some of the stampings?) are different on the VFC which is why some want it.
There’s always a balance between price, availability, and features. It’s also quite easy to say there are more available options than the one that has been discontinued longer than a good chunk of players have been alive.

The Essential line was a failure due to cost mitigation efforts.
They went away from the Laminate wood to hard wood for cost savings. This has been voiced by many as wrong thing to do...the next series is going to be E-Platinum, which will be similar to the line that came out after Gen 2.
I know a bit about the Spartan line, external wise it was Gen 2, internals was Gen 1 (to lower cost.)
