So yea. I have been looking for an AEG that will last me a while (I only play about once a month, or less. Unless I start getting more active.)
I've been considering the "higher-end" brands, like Classic Army, ICS, A&K, King Arms, G&G, and SRC (idk if SRC is actually high end but they sound pretty good).

But I have a few conditions.
Price range: $200 - $270 (might sacrifice a little more if I have to)
    Specs I need:
    • Top rail included or at least able to put a scope mount on it (I don't know which guns can have this)
    • Able to fit 9.6v small type or large type or stick, or a 7.4v Lipo (just needs to fit one of those kinds.)
    • Can't be an Armalite, AK, or G36, because I want a unique weapon
    • Needs to be long enough for field. Preferably short enough to do decent in CQC, or at least have a folding/collapsible stock

And I've been looking at reviews and such to see if the internals and externals are good.

Here are the guns I've found.
    SRC/TSD Tactical XM8 Gen. II (I can't find a Gen. III)
    A&K Magpul Masada
    CYMA/Cybergun Sig556
    King Arms P90 TR
Classic Army P90 w/ Built In Red Dot
    Classic Army SAR Offizier M41FS

All of these have their Pro's and Con's. The P90s I'm not considering as much as the others, because I've heard that their mags suck which makes it a significantly worse model. Plus the P90s don't seem as good for field.

Are there any others you could recommend me that follow my guidelines?

I wouldn't say A&K is high quality. At your price range, you should consider a CA P90 proline (since you don't want an "common" gun).
Have you considered building your own gun?

    Do not thread jack.
Please create your own thread, and as for you question, it depends on how much you are willing to spend. A sniper rifle takes around $1000 to make it better than an AEG.

Yes, I've been looking at those too.

    1. The only Tar for under $300 dollars is the S&T. Which doesn't look very high quality.

    2. L85s are all over $300. Most over $350.

    3. I only found the JG AUG and the CA AUG. JG is mid-quality, and people say the CA AUG is the worst model that CA has made.

Xm8 gen 3's are out there if you look.

Answering note: that gun has no looks.

Have you looked at an FN2000?

Or G&G G2010 Hunter Long AEG (Black)

    (found on ehobby Asia)

Yes, I listed that one as one of my options (the CYMA/Cybergun Sig556. Because airsoft companies rebrand stuff way too much.)

Also, what guns have the option to add a scope mount or top rail mount to them?
Do G3 or Sig variants have that option?

Woops my bad! I'll come back with some other options. The Sig 552s and G3s can mount optics but you need to buy a separate claw mount. You could wait for the Echo 1 polymer XCR to come out. I don't know when but it's supposed to be priced at $300.

Well, are there any other brands to consider besides KWA, Classic Army, ICS, SRC, G&G, and King Arms?

If you can stretch your budget a little you could get the RS Type 97. You'll probably be the only person with one of those lol.

The S&T Tavor is a better gun than it's given credit for but I only suggest it for people that specifically what a Tar-21 (like me). :p

Also S&T made metal gearbox Tavors, you might want to check those out. But I haven't used them so don't take my word for it.

Well if it's the same internals it should last a few thousand rounds according to the stress test videos.

Yeah I would if I could.

But $300 is already kind of stretching my budget, because a few weeks ago when I started wanting a new gun, my budget was realistically under $170.

I have no idea how long it'll take to get even $250.

But I would love a RS Type 97.

You know, maybe I should just wait another 6 months or even longer and save up my money, so that I can get a 300+ gun like the ICS L85A2 or the RS Type 97 (lol).
    It'll probably be worth it.
But I'll probably have trouble sleeping and I'll keep researching guns online for 3 hours a day.
And I earn $5-$10 a week because I can't legally work yet, and I only get an allowance.

    Whatever.

What about an F2000? I know G&G makes one but I don't know the price.
