I just bought this M-4 for my son for Christmas and it shoots great, I dont know much about it. Does anyone have any information on this M-4, like can it be upgraded like higher battery, gear box ect....

It has a version 2 gearbox and can be upgraded with standard v2 parts, you could probably use a 9.6v battery with no problems. I believe the OEM is APS/JAVALIN

EDIT:Yeah actually do a little more research on that, now that eduya or whatever (down there) mentions it, there are a few proprietary pieces in APS guns.

Lol, javelin... Anyways, yes, it'll be alright for a beginner to ease someone into the sport.

What type of spring and gears

I was wondering what size spring and gears, I have tried to email the company, but no reply as of today. I will keep trying, I would like to have a back up plan just incase this gun takes a dump on him after he opens in on Christmas. Thanks in advance for you or anybody elses help.

    Info for the M-4 Ignite

Just got off the phone with Blackriver Tech on this gun and here is what I found:
    V-2 gearbox
    Motor - 1900 RPM shooys 2500 RPM
    Gun shoots 350 - 360 w .2g bbs (Polished bbs recomended)
Gun will take a Lipo 11.1v with no upgrades needed

It really helped me understand alot about AEG`s

11.1v lipo? What amperage? That sounds sketchy IMO.

Lol if he told you to use an 11.1v lipo in a stock gun he must not be an experienced tech. Technichally it could run an 11.1 but in a mediocre gun like that I would expect failure pretty fast.

The gearbox finally crapped out on me. I wouldn't suggest it, the shell broke (not cracked but something on the inside broke off and froze the gearbox (twice) )

-____- to quote you when you got the thing "it is amazing" this is why all the newbies out there need to stop judging a gun from the first 1500 rounds.

To quote me, I said it preforms amazing, and it did. It was thrown down and the frame broke I believe that's what put an end to it. I opened it up and fixed two or three times. I am very very rough on my guns though I think if someone was gentle on it, it would last. I put the 5000 rounds in roughly 2 games.

    What exactly broke?

My friend uses one down here because it was the only one he could get ahold of without buying from the Internet. It works fine as of now.

I just want to know incase his breaks.

I am unsure as the where it came from, but I am sure it came off the gearbox.

Yeah, I finally got my saw, but a little to late for my M4. :(

I do not, I fixed it twice but it seems to have the same problem. I haven't opened it up since the last time but the gearbox is locked up. Just be gentle with it and it should last.
