I recently got a used Elite Force M4 CQB, with the gearbox and possibly the motor replaced (not really sure). Whenever I fire the gun in semi, occasionally it will fire a two or three round burst instead of a single shot. I don't want to get in trouble for cheating at my semi-only cqb field. What may be causing this issue? How could I fix this? Full auto fire works fine.

Does it do it going from auto to semi, but ok from safe to semi? Other option (and more likely) is a worn trigger shuttle and cutoff lever.

it does it going from safe to semi. If it is a worn trigger shuttle and cutoff lever, how would I fix it? Should I just have a tech do it?

It means taking the gearbox apart. Actually changing the parts over isn't difficult, but getting the gearbox back together can be daunting if you've never done it before. An experienced tech should get it done in under half an hour from start to finish, and the parts aren't expensive.
