What are the thoughts on putting a scope on an M4 for sniping
Well, if the m4 is upgraded to shoot 200ft accurately, then I guess you could try it. But the m4 is meant for CQB and the m16 was designed for longer ranges. So I would think a scope on an m4 would just look plain weird.
Getting an acog scope or red dot sight would look more normal.
I think putting a scope on a gun doesn't automatically make it good for sniping.
It's your gun, you can put whatever you want on it.
It's your preference. If you like a scope on your M4, go for it. It might not be effective in other people's opinion, but if you like it, that doesn't matter.
I agree with ncore, but if your weapon runs well enough to do that then go for it. Also depends on your role and what your best suited for.
Seeing an m4 with a sniper rifle type scope is one of those things "I don't like!"
I think this looked pretty good on my rifle. Didn't WORK as well, but looked nice.
My M4 had a scope on it for a time. It's not completely assembled in this picture. Sorry for the bad quality. I have to paint the stock yet.
Of course it didn't work, you have a triangle sight and a sling clip in the way!
Interestingly enough, I've found the triangle sight won't show up in the scope.
Look down there.
It's pretty crazy, but true. And the sling mount is underneath the gun.
It didn't work because the scope was like 10x zoom...
