Why is it that the madbull ultimate hopup needs modification to fit in a plastic body? And what modifications does it need?

A lot of plastic bodied M4s use a 2 part hopup system. The madbull hopup is a 1 part hopup chamber. Usually requires some dremelling for proper fitment.

Take off the tabs in the lower receiver that the bottom part of the 2 piece unit screws to.

And I don't need to do anything else? Just those two tabs?

And you put one piece hopups in all of them?

Of course. It was the only way I could transfer my hop up tracer units between guns, until I made enough for each gun.

It is not difficult to do, and I'm finding it hard to comprehend why there are so many questions about it.

Holding the one piece hop up in place on the plastic body should show you exactly what needs to be removed for it to fit.
