Me and my brother have been building an AKMSU. We decided to make it a little modern.
Here is some pics: (sorry for the small pics and the semi-bad quality)

What do you guys think of the externals so far???
The internals are still in the process. Do you guys have any ideas/suggestions for internals?

I would like to keep the FPS around 330 FPS. I am also going for around 30 RPS.
    Anyone got any ideas?
Oh. Sorry man. Forgot about that.

What kind of budget do you have? I'm nearing the end of a similar build, but It's somewhat pricey.

Well, what's the base gun? Usually when I work on internals I replace pretty much everything, but depending on the internal quality you could save some money and keep some stock internals.

Well I happen to be his brother so...
We are putting a JG blue motor in it. It has a CYMA v3 gearbox shell, with stock jg polycarbonite piston, src gears, and everything else is the stock cyma.

Ok, cool. So the motors probably good. If you wanted more out of the motor you could pick up a Lonex A1. Not to sure how well the gears will hold up, but if you want a higher RPS you might need a different gear ratio (SHS 13:1's are fairly cheap and well made, if you can try to get the Gen. 1 bevel). What kind of FPS are you getting out of the gun currently? With all the upgrades you should also pick up a metal spring guide with bearings, especially if your going for a stronger spring. You could probably keep your piston, just make sure to correct the AOE and if you want you could swiss cheese it for some added RPS. It still wouldn't hurt to pick up a new piston with more metal teeth, but if you get the AOE right on your current one it should last.

What kind of battery are you running? Is it wired to tamiyas? Because while your at it you may as well switch to deans.

Here's some stuff to get you started.

Great for trigger response and give your gun a longer life.

Unfortunately its out of stock, but if it doesn't come back in I'm sure the JG blue will work just fine.

Again, out of stock. But it gives you an idea were to find some with a Gen. 1 bevel.

You have a ton more options then this, but it gives you an idea what to look for.

Again, ideas. SHS also make good pistons, but you could keep your original one and just fix your AOE (angle of engagement)

The gun makes an odd low pitched noise like it is dry firing but it feeds every time. Is that bad?

Those gears are alot cheaper than I thought they were. Those will probably be the first item I buy. Anyone else got any input? I would like a few viewpoints before we start purchasing parts.
    Thank you TYSONtheSNIPER.

The noise could be poor shimming or you need to adjust the motor height. While your at it pick up some grease and new shims, that should solve your noise issues.
