My son wants some airsoft accessories for Christmas. I am clueless when it comes to this type of stuff. He has the G&G M4 Carbine Special Editions M16 Combat Machine Airsoft AEG Rifle (Black)

    He has mentioned wanting:
    * A rail system to attach accessories (He showed me a quad rail but I am not sure it will work based on where the battery is located)
    * A scope/red dot green dot sight
    * A bipod (He has a box mag on the gun if that makes a difference)

If you know of any inexpensive upgrades for this gun that would greatly improve it, feel free to share.

Please post links for your recommendations. We would like quality equipment but money is defintely an issue this year. I would prefer not to spend more than $50 per item (less is better).

Thanks in advance for helping me figure this out.

    Rail System
    You basically have 3 options.
1)Rewire the battery to the rear and add a crane stock. Install basic RIS
**2)Buy a MagPul Hand Guard and the rail kit for it. This gives you the functionality of a RIS while allowing you to house your battery in its current spot.
3)Buy a rail kit, and a Peq box that can house the battery.

For this scenario, I would go with option 2 since it will be the easiest/most cost effective way to go. And everyone loves MagPul!

    Red Dot sight
    Many different styles
    An attractive option

Everything that Jake said is on point.

I would ask your son whether he wants a magnified scope or just a non magnified red dot sight.

I'm not sure if your son knows how to install internal upgrades or not, but if his gun is stock (meaning no internal upgrades) then he might also want to look into some internal upgrades for better performance. One of the simplest to install is a hopup bucking which will add more range to his gun. I'm sure he would love that.

Here are some links to easy to install internal upgrades:

Also, if you order from evike, the website we both just linked, use the coupon code "thankyou" when you checkout and you will get %20 off. It will save you a huge amount of money but you should do it soon before it expires!

My mp5 has no rails on it and the battery is in the front. What my plan is to superglue some external like 4-6" rails to the bottom and sides. Then just attach then that way.

    I know it's a late response.

I don't know if that would work to well. Plus if the rails are weighed down a lot. They can most likely to fall of.

You could get a 6 inch bolt on rail piece for M4 handgaurd, I have one an it works wonders, just wrap a rubber band around the screws to keep it from wobbling

Unfortunatly I can't link from my phone, locktite won't help, there's a gap between the nut and the handgaurd Causing it to wobble
