Hey guys fairly new to airsoft but i want to get a good sniper rifle. I was looking at the jg bar 10 and i was wondering if it was a good gun. If so what kind of mods would i need to do to make it shoot accurately at 200+ feet. If you could leave a reply saying whether or not its a good gun or a gun that would be better. If you think its a good gun please leave a list of parts i would need to get it to shoot 200+ feet. My budget is under $500.
    Thanks

Your budget should be fairly good. A JG Bar-10 is a clone of Tokyo Marui's VSR-10 so you have access to a ton of aftermarket upgrades. Not going to spoon feed you with a whole list of upgrades, but if you search around here on the forum, you'll find plenty of great lists that will help you decide what to get as for upgrades.

Good luck, and feel free to post parts that you have questions about in this thread.

Also at what range do you think the gun could hit a torso sized target out of the box.

Not 100% sure, but it won't be anything like an AEG out of the box. That's why a sniper rifle MUST be upgraded to perform.

Under $500 you have a ton of options, but you need to provide some information (preferred models, brands your interested in, would you like a great stock gun or something you'll upgrade over time, etc.)

Are you still interested in a bolt action sniper rifle? Or are you just looking for a good gun to get into the sport. Sniping is fun, it just requires a lot of money and time.

I didn't know you had a duplicate of this thread. I posted there.
I really don't recommend you get into sniping at this early of a stage, but if you really want to...

For $500, (Which is good, we typically have people with a budget of $110...) you can either get a good base gun (JG), and a lot of upgrades, or you could get a decent gun that you don't need to do much with.

For an aeg i would rather have a gun i didnt need to do anything with besides possible a tight bore barrel. And as for brand classic army, ares, and echo 1 seems to be nice but im open to any others.

If anything go with a vfc m16. If you put a nice tightbore in that gun you will be hitting those targets at 200+ feet

That sounds pretty good, what brand/type tightbore would be good

If the rifle shoots less than 200 feet then you will have to make some major upgrades to it.

Osawaab, please use the edit button instead of making multiple posts.
If you are playing woodland, I think you would be well off with a moderate sized rifle, since you need to be able to maneuver. VFC is great, basically any of their guns will be good.

Are you on the app or the browser?
You don't have to touch a VFC at ALL. They are one if my favorite brands.
