    Okay so here we go:

I'm looking for a base gun to upgrade into a good field gun.

    I have a budget of about $230.

The gun must have a metal body.

I want it to be relatively easy to work on so I don't think I'll be going with an m14.

    IT CAN'T BE G&P. NO!

It can be an m4/ak/aug or anything really besides an m14 or any g&p.

    I've thought about these:

    Cm048
    King arms full metal m4

    What do you think?

Also, the $230 budget is just for the gun, parts have their own budget.

I'd say buy a used CA M16 Proline for $150 and spend the rest on internal upgrades.

You could buy a AUG that's already upgraded and just tune it to your liking... I may have one of this or sale...

I would say to go for the cm048. There are way too many m4's out there. The only ak's i ever see are rentals.

+1000 for the no g&p. Those g&p fanboys are the worst out there.

The only reason I won't go with a g&p is because my m16 absolutely sucked even after I returned it I got it back in the same condition.

Well thats a lemon they have a log of lenons lately but we have like 5 g&ps between me an 2 friends n they are really good. Though i upgraded mine it was good stock. CA prolines are really good and look into an ICS.
