Operation: P90 rebuild

I need a project this summer, so I thought I might as well rebuild/upgrade a boneyard gun. I picked the P90 because of it's easiness of disassembly. The P90 I am getting is a JG P90, and everything is taken apart. It needs new wiring, bushings, and bucking. I would like to stay under 350 (for CQB) and have respectable or close to that of a real P90's ROF. (Anyone know what that is?) Here's my plans so far:
Aoe
Shim
JG Blue motor (P90's use long type right)
Metal Bushings
New wiring (what kind/thickness is recommended)
deans...I guess
maybe systema or madbull blue bucking
maybe polycarb piston
lower spring
and whatever else you guys suggest. This isn't supposed to be an extreme 35 rps build, like I said realistic rof and under 350. Will a 9.6 fit in a P90? And do I need a mosfet of any sort? Thanks for your help

List looks general. It depends more so on brands. But yes, it does use a long type. The JG motor is EXTREMELY slow and the p90 shoots fairly fast. I'd keep stock everything and a pair of either 13:1 gears or a Lonex Orange motor. Both would get you mid 30s so the two won't do. For bushings, SHS are a great and cheap way out. For wiring, go to hobbyking and grab a few yards of 14 or 12 AWG wiring. It is going to be huge but that is not a problem for p90s. Polycarb pistons are ok. I'd rather go for a SHS nylon. Deans are a good idea. I've always liked Systema buckings over MadBull Blues.

Only about a 1200 mAh 9.6 will fit, you should just get a lipo. My 2200 mAh 7.4 is a lot smaller and more powerful. No reason not switch IMO.

I also recommend you get the extended butt pad for it. It makes fitment of the battery (and lipo monitor and MOSFET) much easier.

it takes a long type motor. not sure what the real steel ROF is. since it's not a high amp build, you can stick with 18 awg. you can use 16 awg with a mosfet if you want to run 7.4v LiPo. it fits better than a 9.6v (you will need to trim the butt plate so the 9.6v wires doesn't get pinched).

i'm a madbull blue fanboy. it seals great and comes in 2x per package. i recommend an m120 spring with -2 or 3 (i forget what will drop it down to 350) short stroking. it will give you better trigger response. but it will slightly increase your ROF a bit (high ROF = better trigger response). the stock gears works fine. you will need to upgrade all the clear plastic parts (nozzle, tappet plate and spring guide). i recommend a metal o-ring nozzle. guarder tappet plates works great (king arms red needs modding to work, avoid it). solid metal spring guide will work fine. on your new piston, use the piston bearings. you may need to replace the piston o-ring with a #14 o-ring from home depot.

since i run LiPo's on all my AEG's, i also use mosfets. you can run almost any polycarb piston for that build. no need to go full metal rack. you can shorten the trigger pull by inserting a q-tip stem (trimmed to size) between the trigger rod and assembly mount. if the upper receiver wobbles, it can be shimmed using foil tape. let me know if this is the case and i'll upload some pix.

Oh gosh...shortstroking...that's a scary word for a noob like me lol are there any guides on it? Can i just go with a m110? I think I'll stick with the JG blue since I already have it, but I guess I'll get 13:1 gears. Will probably get a 7.4 lipo in the future, but they can't be charged on a smart charger right? Also what's a good fairly cheap MOSFET? Here's an updated list, for now I really don't care what rof it turns out to be.
M110 or shortstroked m120
JG blue
13:1 gears (brand?)
Maybe JG orange Polycarb
MOSFET (in the near future)
Lipo (same as above)
SHS bushings
Diy mods
14 awg wiring
Deans
I guess replace plastic parts
Madbull blue

You need a lipo charger. The good ones will also charge nimh though. Check out the thunder ac6 on hobbypartz.com or the IMAX b6 on hobbyking. You can also get the wire and deans (or xt60 if the battery comes with them) on either site.

I think the real P90's ROF is around 900-1000RPM, but it could be more.

Edit: just looked it up ad it's 900RPM.

Looks good, but because of the loss of power you may want to try the R-Hop for if you use it at a field. If you are only using it at CQB I would get a promy purple.

I don't really know much about mosfets but to charge a lipo you get a lipo smart charger and set the settings to whatever your lipo is and press start. On mine it even shows how many mah have been filled up.

I use a 1600mAh 9.6v in my P90.
Also have fun with your build.

That's a pretty weak lipo and it doesn't really take advantage of the battery space in the p90. Go for a 2200 mAh and like 25 or 30c.

Does JG have an orange polycarb? The piston that came in my jg was an orange nylon one with 1 metal tooth. I have also heard of their clear pistons (supposed to be pretty nice), nut never an orange poly.... That charger doesn't look like it has a balance port. Stay away from that... Look into the B6 or AC6 like was mentioned earlier.... Get a bigger batter, that thing is tiny. Is it possible to use a JG bevel with SHS 13:1's? If so that would probably be your best bet...

The piston in it isn't an orange poly piston it's a white nylon piston in the P90.
I was going to buy one. Please reply to my pm's so we can wrap up this deal

ok, I got the gun today. Unfortunately I traded the JG blue, so it's all stock parts, except it came with a metal spring guide, metal bushings, and aoe corrected. It's missing 3 bushings, and may need new trigger contacts. Alex, Griffin, and whoever else is good with P90's, would you mind looking at these pics and telling me if anything is missing, and if anything is wrong with the contacts. Everything it came with is there except the receivers, mags, and screws/shims.

Ya on normal circumstances that's right but sometimes P90s can push 950 rpm. Not 1000 but ya. I would go for about 950 rpm so you have the power to put more bbs down range.

One of the first things that you should do with the P90 is stabilize the inner barrel because it's really loose. I was able to put two layers of duct tape around mine and still fit it in the gun.
I noticed that, also did you cut the bucking? It looks a little short...
