I want something small and light but has the range for outdoor play. Don't really want a m4 though owned too much of those >_>

The 416 would likely be to heavy. The MP5 could be a good option though.

Cyma makes a great entry M14 and AK. I like there MP5k because it is full metal.
Any specific model you are interested in?

No was just wonder what I should get and I know the mp5 can't match range with a m4ish type gun

The MP5k's shorter barrel will be at a disadvantage against a full sized M4 platform, but the ICS MX5 should be right on par with all stock M4s.

...or you could put a silencer on the mp5k and a longer inner inner barrel.

That is another option. MP5ks look great with supressors.

    I really don't know much about G36s.
I know KWA, JG, CA, and SRC make one. Echo1 and Umarex license one. And probably the best value would be a JG/E1. Airsoft Gi makes a few very attractive ones.

You could always go the PDW route.

    http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/BRAVO-RDW-AEG-p/62060.htm

This is the bravo RDW, only costs $230, which leaves you plenty of room for upgrades. The fully metal externals in this gun are just rock solid. It's fairly light weight for being full metal, nice and small, and you can easily use the extra money left over to extend the barrel as you see fit.

The E1 looks awesome. Sort of like an SL8 assault rifle.

You can find very good rifles of these type, generally by G&G, E1, VFC, ICS, or JG (JG if properly upgraded) and can find 'em pretty cheap, then use the leftovers to upgrade and kit-out

If you guys keep posting all the horribly ****ed up G36s, DM and I will have to leave this forum.

On topic, a G36 is an excellent choice. I would recommend the CA ones, they have very nice externals.
