Well, obviously just about everybody here oughta like real guns. Why not make a thread for the "real steel" as we airsofters call it?

So yeah... discuss everything about real steel here. Your arsenal, your ability, any recent trips to the range, ask questions... Anything.

Me personally? Well, I love guns. I got two rifles and a pistol. The pistol? A Ruger Mk II, a very popular .22 target pistol. I love it, it's just so cute and cuddly and lovable. :3

The rifles? A Browning BAR Safari in .30-06, with a 3-9x40mm Bushnell scope (made in Belgium B/), and a Marlin 336W, in .30-30. Both are very nice, excellent-looking and excellent-shooting guns.

Haven't hunted yet, but I'd love to. And the Marlin 336 is perfect for the brush hunting around Tennessee.

I have the MK II also! It looks like a Luger, doesn't it?

I also have a remington over/under .410/.22 made in Russia.

Niiiice, Axis. 8D Funny thing about the Mk II... apparently, yes, the designer (the late William "Bill" Ruger) based the Mk II's appearance off the Luger due to the comfort of its grip angle, but the operating mechanism comes from Japan's Nambu... oddly enough, the Nambu looks like the Luger somewhat, so I dunno.

...A Remington... made in Russia? How does that work? XD So by .410/.22 you mean it shoots .410 shotshells and .22 long rifle? Oddball combination...

Yep. Made in Russia, ported to WallieWorld, then ported into my '08 Christmas Tree.

As for the MKII, ported by a great season of football.

...WHY DO YOU HAVE THREE M4s?! XD Wow. Are they even legal? I thought the minimum barrel length for a rifle was 18 inches.

Man, you got a personal armory. o_o I envy you.

14.5" barrel with a pinned/welded flash hider is ATF min. Anything below that is classified as a SBR requiring a tax stamp.

Yeah... U.S. gun laws confuse me sometimes. e.e Somebody tell me without a bunch of legal, lawyer-style gobbledygook- can I have a machine gun?

I've read you can have one in some places, you just have to have a $200 tax stamp or something. Oy. Someone set me straight on this.

Depending on your state, you can own a full auto weapon. This also applies to Short Barrel Rifles, Sawed Offs, Cans "Sound Suppressor" etc.

    1. You purchase your weapon (Some FFL dealers charge a 5%-10% transfer fee)
    2. You pay for the $200 tax stamp for Class 3 Machine Guns
    3. ATF does a background check (Roughly 6months)
    4. Chief of Police in your city/town approves/denies transfer
    5. Pick up your new toy

You could always get a manufacturer's license and build one, beating the absurd "firearm owner's protection act"

Also, check out impactguns.com. Some class 3 goes for as *little* as $12,000 ;)

Its crazy how a $50 sear and spring takes a gun from $1,000 to $20,000 lol

You still have to do all the paperwork. You can't just walk in and buy one like an other gun.

@Lt: I had a friend that wanted to do that, but the insurance killed it for him. It's expensive and has many requirements by the ATF. You'd have to be a serious business to make it worth while. IG has great stuff, but Patinator joked about a Machine Gun which come with a hefty price tag. He could get a Mac 10 for $4500 in good to excellent condition.

Actually, if you were to buy a "black" class III weapon, it would probably cost you less than a "white" one, because it is relatively easy to modify a semi-auto weapon to fire full auto. The white ones cost absurd amounts of money, because if you purchase one, it has to have been manufactured before 1986. These are getting rarer all of the time, artificially inflating the price.
