Ok so I searched this and didn't find anything so I made a thread. I read on the holy grail dmr build or whatnot that you can remove the anti reversal latch with a ab MOSFET. What does everybody think about this and who can actually try it out. I won't be home for a few weeks and I don't have a ab MOSFET to try it with so I can't do it myself. I will also link that thread once I find the link I have it on my computer but ill look for it.

Theoretically it should work as an AB MOSFET stops the cycle once you let go of the trigger, however until I can prove this I would personally not remove the at latch.

Yes I don't want too but also on another note it would be a semi only build

Correct me if I'm wrong one of the more experienced techs but I believe for a semi-only build you wouldn't need an ar latch.

That didn't make sense to me and we'll that's what I'm asking essentially would I need an ar latch

If your motor and mosfet can ACTUALLY stop the piston, removing the ARL could help a bit with some of the locking issues semi only can cause to be a major issue. I'd personally go with a non-AB mosfet, don't really need it. Most semi-only builds are higher FPS, and also cycle slowly, so overspin shouldn't be an issue.

I've done it. It works fine. However, I quickly swapped out the mosfet because it destroys your motor and I could smell my motor burning up.

So your saying get a regular MOSFET no ab

Correct. However don't remove your antireversal latch then...

Ok so ab MOSFET with no anti reversal latch is what I'll do. now does anybody know of a good cheap ab MOSFET?

Yeh. And you can hear the wind of the motor sometimes...

I tend to dislike that anti reversal latch but I gues Ill leave it on.

I recommend you keep the ARL. If the motor isn't able to brake the gear back spin, the back of the piston's pickup tooth and the tappet plate will have a very unpleasant date with the sector gear.

I like ARL's they keep my sector gears from molesting my pistons.

A customer brought me in a gun they had tried to work on and must have forgotten to put the ARL back in. Let's just say the piston was touched inappropriately by the sector gear.
