hey guys, I have a G&P M4 that was recommended to use an 8.4v battery with on Evike.com

Would it be ok to run a 9.6v in a G&P? What would the dangers be of running 9.6v in a gun rated for 8.4v? Sorry for the noob question.

The guys at Evike know nothing, any stock gun will easily handle a 9,6v ni-mh, unless it's total garbage.

Well, I was kind of thinking that it wouldn't be an issue, and I figured the biggest reason they recommended 8.4v is because G&P makes the 8.4v battery with the deans connector.

They probably make more profit off the recommended battery. I would just get a 7,4v li-po and basic li-po balance charger from an RC retailer, better battery at a lower price.

    a g&p can run a 9.6 easilly. Any AEG over 100$ can use a 9.6

Thanks guys. I found 9.6v butterfly batteries on Amazon.com for $17ea and ordered 2. I'll use one as a backup to my KWA Mod 2 and the other for the G&P.

G&P also makes a 9.6 and 10.8 crane stock battery. i've been running the 9.6 for a year with no problems. ROF is good on it as well. don't run the 10.8 unless you beef up the internals.
