Hey I'm going to buy an echo 1 Max high speed gear set and I was wondering if I needed a sector clip?

Pick up a set of SHS gears instead. Sector clips are used when you're having issues with feeding issues, and timing etc. What are you planning to run. If you are just going for 20s probably not.

You may want to use a stiffer spring and short-stroke to your desired fps depending on you rps goal.

A set of 16:1 or even 18:1 gears would be fine. Make sure you have a decent motor though.

Would 13:1 with a stock g&g motor work fine

It'll work, but I don't know if it'll be very efficient. I don't have any experience with G&G parts. Lonex and SHS motors are good replacements for motors. Also, make sure you get your wires and everything sorted out when you do this (16 AWG, deans, etc.).

No problem. By the way, ask more opinions on the G&G motor on 13:1s. More input is better.

What fps are you looking for and what g and g motor is it. On 13:1 gears it will struggle to pull it with a 7.4 and will probably not give you your desired rps or be very efficient.

It'll give the same fps regardless of what motor it is......
