Should I get an M14 for a DMR?

    No, he shouldn't. You build a DMR, not buy one. Plus, I would recommend the CYMA M14 over the AGM M14.

    Tell him to do some more researching on DMRs.

    As said, if you buy an m14 go with CYMA, or better yet, G&G if he can save up. M14's are a little harder to work on internally then other rifles, but if he dosn't plan to do much tech work at all then this is probably a good way to go.

    Saving up for the G&G M14 would be the best choice, but the CYMA M14 is an alright base if he doesn't want to save up for the G&G. Just don't get the AGM.

    Personally I love the CYMA m14 platform. The v7 gearbox is a solid design and in stock form has great range. The only problems are the amount of small parts in the gun, making it difficult to work on. But in my experience, it's really not that hard to get down to the gearbox.
