So, I have hit a quandary.

I am attending an event in July that has a night ops section. Is it a good idea to invest in night vision before then? If so, what should I get? I don't want to skimp on this piece of equipment, and I know I'm looking at more then 5k for a good set.

Is it worth it? What is a good price (depending on model)?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Who's running the event? I know several of them offer NVG rentals and training the night before the OP.

Action Sports Wisconsin. As far as I know they don't offer any rentals.

Have you investigated renting before buying? I don't own NVGs nor have I rented them but I imagine the same advice would apply that we give to newcomers to Airsoft: rent before you buy.

The field is partially lighted and if you play FBI style with your light it should be fine.

You don't need NVG there...
