Hey guys thinking about making me gun into a dsg and was wondering if the shs dsg will with withstand a beating. I would use it with the shs 12:1 gears on a m140 or m150 sping. Thanks
Ok so I would need to get some 18:1 high torque gears? Id probably get the shs ones.Secondly, I'm pretty sure the dsg gear itself is much like the Riot individual sector in the way that it is 18:1.
Yeah I already have a airsoft gun that shoots around 35 rps but I want to try a dsg just for fun a the experience. http://aegcartasia.com/gbec11.html Im also wondering if that gearbox looks fine to use with a m150 spring or if I should get some other one. Its only 20 bucks so if that would work instead of a 50 dollar gearbox id rather use that. Id replace the bushings and everything. I thought that the shs were fine for 363mm barrelsThe shs dsg will work with either a shs 18:1 or 16:1 gears if you are really wish to go nutz.
18:1 is about 18.65
16:1 is really 17.25
divide by 2 for dsg will equate to 9.33:1 or 8.63:1
tbh unless you are quite experienced I'd just use a 12:1 set especially if your gun's barrel is over 250/275mm coz that is the aprox realistic limit for dsg's
(riot make a special 9 tooth dsg sector but shs is exactly half at 8 teeth)
if you decide to proceed with dsg you will need at least a m150/160
getting that inside will a lot more "fun" than a m110/120 on your own
so I advise a dsg build is for those with at least a little experience of rebuilding gearboxes and running very well.
You could use just the dsg sector in a std gearbox but usually a number of stock gears will not withstand the stress or not for very long - bevel/spur teeth may just break off on some stock gears very quickly.
So if buying a new set of gears then maybe a shs 12:1 set might just be a lot easier all round. A high speed ssg build isn't that far behind and not too tricky to accomplish
but is is up to you in the end.
yeah what the heck - but lose the bearings - you want 8mm bushingsYeah I already have a airsoft gun that shoots around 35 rps but I want to try a dsg just for fun a the experience. http://aegcartasia.com/gbec11.html Im also wondering if that gearbox looks fine to use with a m150 spring or if I should get some other one. Ok thanks its also a quick changing spring sh it should be a little easier right?yeah what the heck - but lose the bearings - you want 8mm bushings
radius the front cylinder, correct AoE assemble box without spring
then pop the m150 in there once all closed up plus you can change it to m160 if needed
you will feel the difference and miss out on the fun trying to close up a normal box with a strong spring using just one pair of hands and praying nothing jumps out at the very last second as you try to keep it all together from bursting across the room....
yeah if done carefully it should last a while - you only half pull that spring back - it isn't the full spring tension that can crack the box but more the higher speed resonating almost as she fires at say 45+rps
test it all out on say lower 7.4v first (mosfet installed)
then expect a rough 50% increase on rof if you use 11.1v to get a rough idea of how she rolls
good luck if going 45/50rps coz you will need good mags to feed perfectly at that speed too
Trust me it will be one less thing to worry about, took me a number of attempts to close one up with sweaty greasy hands and all else wanting to jump outOk thanks its also a quick changing spring sh it should be a little easier right?
