-__- There are several SR-12s you're going to have to be more specific.

Lets use some common sense and find out which airsoft guns are sold as sr12s... I would think KWA. If so, it's a good gun. Worth the money? Most will say not. I think it is. People complain about KWAs being proprietary and over priced, when in reality, they're not. They're priced competitively and accordingly. They aren't all that proprietary. They shoot somewhat fast, stock. Good barrel and decent bucking. Pretty good guns, stock. Externals are nice, but not the nicest. I'd consider a VFC sr15e3 IWS or Socom Gear m4 over the KWA. In the end, the choice is up to you. If you like the looks of the sr12, get it. If you are happy with your purchase in the end, good for you.

I don't agree with the KWA part, but by all means, +1

Everything but the cylinder is the same yes. They do that to take down the FPS. I had a cqr mod 1 it was a decent gun. Shot an inconsistent 315-330 before I tuned it. If you want the sr12 get it, it will be a good gun for you that will last while. It shoots much hotter around 385. I would suggest replacing the motor right away though because like most KWA guns it's pretty bad.

But the SR-12 could definetly out shoot cqr in terms of range

Does the sr12 have better range?

Most likely. But, If it doesn't, then you could easily just spend $20 and R-hop the gun

It's a contact patch you have to fit to your barrel, you need to modify your bucking and hop-up nub as well. It allows for greater range, much better than a standard bucking. You could always find someone to install it for you, Clandestine also has pre R-hopped barrels that you can just modify the bucking and nub and pop in. You could always try fitting the contact patch yourself, but it's easy to mess up and if done improperly will hinder the performance of the gun. There should be a guide on R-hop as part of the stickies on the Gun Modification section.

Chances are the average local airsoft store won't even know what rhop is.

You just need to modify the bucking if you have a preinstalled rhop.

Why do people who have no experience with Rhop always recommend rhop to to new players that have no clue what it is?

Because newbs and/or noobs have no opinions/experiences gained through there own interaction, so they have to steal other peoples ideals.

One does not simply "just spend $20 and 'easily' do Rhop"...

Unless you're a master/ pro which I guess you are so go right ahead.

Oh DM, if I could only start throwing out names...
