What's the best thing to use as a plug or to put on a plug to get a smooth surface but also something the Sugru won't bond to? The wax paper seemed to present some issues.
Is there any way to halt or slow down the curing process of the unused Sugru so that I don't end up needing to cut open another package just to take a little pinch if I have to do a barrel over again?
Does the color of the Sugru mean anything (different density) or is it just color?
Why do you recommend a custom nub versus a commercially made flat nub? I have two Modify flat nubs and a hard and a soft, smooth bucking (also Modify).
Best plug IMO is 6mm Teflon tubeing.
Sugru reacts to oxygen, so maybe reseal it in an airtight vacuumed bag. Not sure how well or long it will work though as I never tried.
Color is just preference, all Sugru is about a 75 hardness so the final result will be like having a 75 bucking. So best for guns shooting 350+
I recommend a custom nub as a nub with concave shape will just perform better. Flat nub will still work ok. But a maple leaf nub or custom one will be best.
As for hard or soft bucking. Just use what gives the best airseal around the barrel.
