Had my friend in SLO pick this up for me. He just came back up to the neighborhood and brought it to me :)

Sorry, my Spanish teacher doesn't help. Living down south does.

I hate to correct your correction, but if he meant "I liked it", then he was correct with his first "Me gusto". Which is the past tense. Now if he meant "I like it", then your correct on your correction... :D

I was about to say that. So he actually made sense.

The way I read it, yeah made lots of sense...

I read: "Very pretty, I liked it."

No. That would be incorrect. "Me gusta" is the correct way to say that. It means "It pleases me" not "I like it" like most people think.

    6 years of spanish here.

I congratulate you for taking your time to study Spanish for as long as you have. But as I stated prior. Gusta means to like, to show interest or taste. All depending on what you wish to say at the moment.

"It pleases me" would be: "Me agrada" or "Me da placer"

I believe that having lived, I'd dare to say for almost 28 years, in Puerto Rico (I'm currently 32 and except for my time of service in the army I've lived here for a lifetime) should make me more than qualified to speak my own native language.
I don't wish to argue, but here is a link to the complete definition of the word "Gusta".

Why do they teach us "Me gusta" means to please? Maybe gusta means "like" but the translation isn't exactly "like" and changes to make more sense in English.

We should quit this whole Spanish argument Gabob. It's getting ridiculous. Anyways, like I stated before, OP, I love the gun and it looks great.

I'm not a huge fan of the model of the gun, but the paint job is great.
