Its about time I got back into Airsoft Society...

Welp, seeing as I've changed my screen name (sorry, the platypus pseudo-name had to go), I figured it would be appropriate to make a new teching thread for myself.

This thread will be where I post all of my teching escapades... From building guns to building motors, you'll find it here in my lonely yet busy tech corner...

I'll start off with my DSG build. (You guys like DSG builds... right?)

    Base gun: JG M4.

    Internals:
    Gearbox:
    Retro Arms V2 QCS Shell
    Siegetek DSG
    G&G spur and bevel
    28TPA motor with SHS pinion
    BTC Spectre mosfet
    Lonex bushings
    SHS M190 Spring
    G&P Full cylinder
    Aim Top piston (With bearings)
    Lonex Piston head
    Cyma stock cylinder head
    G&G Tappet plate
    Mars Airnozzle
    G&P Trigger
    JG ARL

    Hopup:
    Lonex Chamber
    Lonex 70D bucking
    R-hop
ZCI 6.02mm barrel (cut to be 140mm long)

Getting about 28RPS at 340FPS (overvolumed).

    Externals:
    JG Receivers
    ZCI Buffer tube
    JG Crane Stock
    ZCI 5.5 inch outer barrel
    ZCI 4 inch hand guard

Love this build, I just need better receivers for it...

    Who doesn't like DSGs? :D

I thought you had sped up the RPS? Did you slow it back down, or is this another DSG?

I initially built this DSG using an M170 and a 16TPA motor, everything else was the same. But once I stepped up to an M190 my motor needed to also step up. 16TPA's have a hard time efficiently pulling M190's...

At first I was wondering why you would use a dsg for 28rps, then I realised the trigger response must be amazing.

I've set pre-cock to max so yea, it's pretty instant. Plus, I'd i were to use a 14.8v I'd get around 40RPS so that's always an option.

Currently I'm working on an A&K Masada. It's been a while since I've opened one up, kinda refreshing since most of the guns I work on are M4's...

I got a a&k Masada right now that I'm working on, (its not mine) it just has a broken feed tube though, cheap plastic I guess.

What are your plans for the Masada??

I've heard of several people use the SHS DSG so far with OK results... I don't think anyone took it over an M160, due to the poor design of the sector itself.
Riot will always have that first place to me though, for nothing else but the quality.

Well, it seems to be designed fine.
I think this sector gear will hold up great, though, I've never had an SHS sector break down.

I've been busy, sadly. Buuuuut, I'm back, bb.

Got some really weird chrono results the other day while working on my DSG... Lol pretty sure it's field legal

    Anyway...

I'm ordering a bunch of stuff to get my ICS M16 performing at its peak.

So far, this is the setup:
    ICS split gearbox
    M120 spring
    SHS piston
    SHS piston head
    SHS spring guide
    ZCI full cylinder
    Lonex tappet
    SHS nozzle
    SHS 13:1 gears
    Lonex A2
    Chimera mk2 fet
    Stock hopup
    R-hop
    Madbull barrel
    Lonex 70D

    Problems:
Accuracy issues. I suspect the barrel is wearing out. I plan on getting a PDI barrel.
Rof issues. This setup should be getting 40RPS but it's only getting about 25RPS... I suspect the Lonex motor has just lost its touch. I'll open it up, clean the com and arm, and try it out to see if it will work. If not, I'll replace the motor..

12.3 Joules. Definitely field legal... :p

Are you going to get a new chrono?

Yea, whenever I order from Evike again, which I hardly ever do... Lol

But I'm going to have to soon, I need to order some random little things I've been neglecting to buy...

Whats your method? I use a dremel for most of it, then clean up/fine tune with a pair of files. Works great for brass, but yeah, is a pain for steel...

Pretty much the same, dremel and then file.

Matrix really needs to make a better barrel, this barrel came with such a tiny window that the bucking would have nearly zero contact on the bb.
