My dad found his old ESS goggles from Iraq in his closet. I assume they are ansi Z87.1 rated and probably higher, but there are no markings on the goggles that say so.

Assuming you're talking about the ESS NVG Profile goggles, they're ANSI Z87.1-2010 "Impact Protector" rated, i.e., "Z87.1-2010+". They're also compliant with MIL-PRF-32432.

The "+" in the Z87 number is important. The basic Z87 standard has NO impact protection requirements and should not be used for airsoft.

There's a lot more info in this thread: http://www.airsoftsociety.com/forums/f38/eyepro-standards-relevant-airsoft-113126/

Just to add to Iram's post: ESS goggle lenses are Z87.1-2015 (unless pre 2015, then they are Z87.1-2010, which isn't much different), Z87+, and MIL-PRF-32432/31013 compliant.

In their testing videos, they can take a direct hit from a steel .15 cal projectile travelling at 650 feet per second with no penetration or spiderwebbing.
